I found you through Russell Nohelty, and I'm so glad I did! I've just subscribed, albeit as a free subscriber right now, but I hope to upgrade soon. This one newsletter was so helpful and full of sound advice that I'm going to implement your suggestions right now.
I link to older content (even outside the newsletter) all the time, but deliberately creating different versions for e-mail and web is not something that had occurred to me.
That's what I mean. If I edit the Substack web page, it updates the entire newsletter but I have a different website, not connected to Substack so I can take your advice for that/
yaknow, as someone who considers themselves a damn good writer, this piece showed me that I have a lot in common with that talented local guitarist who can't even begin to read a sheet of music...really appreciate the detailed and approachable look at the technical side of building an audience, I feel like this will help a lot.
that part was tougher for me to process as well, ya don't wanna sound like a Wal-Mart greeter but I think we could work around that with a touch of personality.
Also, about the upgrade to Paid button, this is very important but I have not been able to find such a button and when I use the subscribe button it converts to "subscribed" for subscribers.
This time I have tried adding an "other button" with text "upgrade to paid" . I haven't published yet, so I do not know if this works/

Thank you!
Thank you! This was actually really insightful for a newbie like me. I'll definitely try to use some of these tips in my new posts!
Thanks for sharing my header! I went through and updated all the headlines from my past newsletters because of this article, so thanks!

right, it's such a simple thing but I could see the impact.
This is golden advice and personal insights.
If I go to my web[age it is the same as my email newsletter page. Any edits I do update the email. How is one supposed to edit the web page separatly?
You edit the web version after you’ve already sent the newsletter

This issue is packed with good stuff! Thank you for including my question in the video. Best wishes for safe travel and have a happy birthday ✈️
This is great. As a Daily publication I’m not sure about introducing myself each time though?

Thank you for sharing this. 1,2,5 is a must for me.
This is the first post that I saved on Substack.
I will revisit it multiple times as I did not implement any of this in my weekly letter.
Each sentence is absolute gold. Wonderful.
Thank you for sharing this with us, Simon.
