Some changes to this newsletter
If you’ve read this newsletter for a while, you may have noticed that I’ve been experimenting with its cadence and format over the past few weeks. I think I’ve finally landed on an approach that works well for both me and the audience.
Whenever I talk to readers, they almost always say they get more value from my short curation and analysis posts than from the longer case studies. The data backs that up: my curation newsletters consistently generate higher open rates than the case studies.
The upside of those curation newsletters is that I can publish them much more frequently than my longform articles. For the past few years, I’ve sent my curation newsletters only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Starting this week, I’m aiming to publish a newsletter every weekday. I’m sure I’ll miss the occasional day, but overall you can expect a much higher volume each month than ever before.
And for those of you who are fans of the podcast, it’s not going away. In fact, I’ve reorganized my production schedule so I can now publish up to two a week.
So if you’re a fan of the news curation newsletters, you’re now getting more of them. And if you’re a fan of the podcast, you’re now getting more of them.
One final thing: I’m lowering the price of a paid subscription. Previously it cost $150 for an annual subscription and $20 monthly. As of today, it’s $80 for an annual subscription and $12 monthly. And the nice thing about Substack is you get grandfathered in to any price you sign up for — so even if I raise prices in the future, you’re locked into these prices for as long as you remain a subscriber.
One final final thing: If you use this link, you’ll get 20% off for your first year. I don’t offer discounts hardly anymore, and this may be the only one I offer in all of 2026. Use this button below to claim it:
