I think the missing narrative is that Meta is de-prioritizing all non native platform content. If one of their influencer slaves wrote it for Meta, it gets good billing. If the content takes you off their platform, the algorithm shows it less.

Yeah, that's definitely part of it. Although with Threads and Instagram they announced that they're also specifically de-prioritizing political content.

Presumably...if the news industry can adapt...can we dream that it would have some longer form, more thoughtful news rather than the anger inducing news soundbites we see on social media?

Most of the time I dive right into your newsletter. This time, it's a pass because I never had a Facebook account for more than the one week it took to try it out and leave. That was 2005. The context that might be valuable is your story as to why you ever had an account and what it did to connect you with your best clients, in deep and private conversations. You seem really bright and I'm curious why Facebook was vital for you.
