Sponsorship packages
Every newsletter and podcast will have a maximum of one sponsor.
Newsletter sponsorship
Each newsletter has two major sections. There’s an essay at the top and then a roundup of industry news at the bottom. Your sponsored post will go between these two sections. You’ll be responsible for writing the copy and it’ll be subject to my approval.
What you’ll get:
A headline with a maximum of 80 characters
The main message with a maximum of 200 words
Two hyperlinks
BONUS: Your ad will live on the article in perpetuity. Why does this matter? Because at least 50% of my web visits come from Google, meaning that once the article is indexed in search engines your ad will continue to be exposed to users long after it ran in the newsletter.
Podcast sponsorship
What you’ll get:
A 60-second host-read ad. This will be inserted after the intro but before the main interview (about two minutes into the podcast episode)
A hyperlink in the episode description
BONUS: Your ad will live on the podcast episode in perpetuity. Why does this matter? Because at least 50% of my podcast downloads are of episodes that are over a month old. So you’ll see value from the ad long after the episode debuts.
Pricing
Please note that the price will go up as my audience grows, so it benefits you to book sponsorships far in advance.
Newsletter sponsorship: $400 per issue
Podcast sponsorship: $100 per episode
Availability
As I mentioned, there’s only one ad slot available per week. I keep an updated Google Doc with ad slot availability over here.
Reporting
I’m happy to provide screenshots of newsletter and podcast metrics after your ad runs. Note: for podcasts, I can only show you how many people downloaded the episode, not how many people actually listened to your ad.
